Additional information
Research area
Parth is a Senior Scientist (Ambizione and Spark grantee) at the Tissue Engineering and Biofabrication (TEB) group at ETH Zurich. He was previously a Marie Sklodowska Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellow in the TEB group at ETH until July 2023.
His research at ETHZ involves the use of Structured Light for biofabrication of tissue and grafts for regenerative purposes. Broadly, his research can be characterized into four major domains:
- Filamented light biofabrication of highly aligned tissues
- Minimally-invasive delivery of structured light for in vivo bioprinting
- Light-assisted bioprinting of musculoskeletal tissues in microgravity
- New isotonic collagen-based photocrosslinkable resins for biofabrication
In his previous research, he developed biomimetic patches for the treatment of dynamic organ pathologies during his first postdoc at UNC Chapel Hill, USA, and an ultrasound-assisted cell patterning process for anisotropic tissue biofabrication during his PhD at NC State, USA.
He has amassed a total of 6 patents and invention disclosures, and his research has been published in reputed peer-reviewed journals (Google Scholar link).
