Research
The Institute for Biomechanics consists of five laboratories, which together conduct research on the boundaries between engineering and medicine and across the broad domain from the whole-body down to the molecular scale.
Our research programs are focused into three main thematic areas:
- Orthopaedic Medicine and Sport
- Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine
- Systems Biology and Mechanobiology
Over the years, we have continually developed our expertise in the fields of Quantitative and Functional Imaging, Computational Engineering and Systems Modeling, Multi-Scale Experimental Biomechanics and apply these across our research themes.
