The Laboratory for Bone Biomechanics aims at providing a bridge between biologists, who have brought molecular and cellular components within the realm of engineering, and engineers, who have brought the materials and methods of measurement, analysis, design, synthesis, and control within the realm of molecular and cell biology. More specifically, new developments in biomechanical and biomaterials research are aimed at the modeling and engineering of bone at the molecular, cellular, tissue, and organ levels incorporating novel principles and techniques of mechanics, materials processing, imaging, and in silico simulation applied to the areas of organoid and tissue engineering, systems mechanobiology and personalized medicine.
