Acta Student Award for Jianhua Zhang

Congratulations to Dr. Jianhua Zhang, who was selected as the winner of an Acta Student Award for his primary contribution to the manuscript "Optimization of mechanical stiffness and cell density of 3D bioprinted cell-laden scaffolds improves extracellular matrix mineralization and cellular organization for bone tissue engineering", which was published last year in Acta Biomaterialia.

The award is limited to candidates whose work was reported in one of the Acta Journals as a full-length paper, and who were bona fide doctoral students at the time the work was performed. William R. Wagner, Editor-in-Chief of Acta Biomaterialia, wrote in his award letter β€œThe field of nominees was very impressive, and the task of selecting winners was challenging. Not only did your paper demonstrate exceptional value to the biomaterials community, but your personal credentials and recommendations were also exemplary.” The award comes with a prize of $2,000 and will be presented at the Acta Symposium during the TMS 2022 conference in Anaheim, USA, from 27 February to 3 March 2022.
